Biography
Lubna A. Al-Ansary is a Professor of Family Medicine at the College of Medicine, a part-time Consultant Family Physician at the Primary Care Centre and the head of the Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee at King Saud University, the oldest and largest university in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Her efforts in promoting evidence-based health care in KSA and the Gulf Countries since the late 1990’s, allowed her to hold Bahamdan Research Chair for evidence-based health care and knowledge translation at KSU, which focuses on evidence-generation and implementation. Lubna has always been a strong believer of the mission and objectives of G-I-N. She has been a co-opted Board Trustee for 2012/3 and an elected member thereafter. In Jan 2013, Lubna has become a member of the Consultative Council, which is the ‘Appointed Parliament’ in KSA as one of the first women MPs ever and she represented women MPs at the Inter-parliamentary Union for 2 years.
